The power to manage electricity use is in the hands of Bega and Tathra residents as Essential Energy rolls out around 400 IN-Home Displays to customers this month. The IN-Home Displays are the next step in Essential Energy’s broader Intelligent Network Community Trial and an important customer component of the program.

Home area networks: Zigbee beats WiFi in cost, says GE

A GE research study has found that in terms of cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency, Zigbee's wireless communications technology tops WiFi technology. Researchers determined that WiFi used a little more than twice the power than Zigbee in home area network applications.
